Exchange Student Housing Near Sogang University

A guide to finding co-living housing in Seoul if you're heading to Sogang University on exchange — written for exactly that situation, using KCH's actual applicant data rather than guesswork.

Why this page

Sogang is one of the universities we consistently see among KCH applicants — a steady stream of students head there for exchange each semester.

Sogang was founded in 1960 by the Jesuits and is Korea's only Jesuit university. It's also one of the smaller, more compact campuses in Seoul — the whole campus fits within a few blocks in Sinsu-dong, Mapo-gu, the same district as several KCH houses.

Don’t just take our word for it

If you'd rather not take a landlord's word for it, you don't have to: KCH houses have appeared on Korean television, as the setting for the KBS World TV reality show Welcome to Everybody's House, and there's a folder of tenant reviews and videos of actual house life — trips, camping, house events — for anyone who wants to look before applying.

Campus location

Sogang University's campus is at 35 Baekbeom-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul 04107, South Korea. All of KCH's currently active houses are in Seoul's Mapo-gu and Seodaemun-gu districts — the same general area as Sogang. Below are a few real streets where KCH houses are located, each with a map link from campus so you can check today's actual travel time yourself (we don't publish fixed walk/subway times here, since the exact house you end up in — and real-world travel time — varies and can change).

Choosing a room

The things exchange students most commonly weigh when picking a KCH room: budget (rent + deposit), private vs. shared room, how many housemates a house has, the house's general vibe, whether it's mixed-gender, and whether bedding is provided. Room Rates lists every room across our active houses with rent and deposit so you can compare before applying.

Timing

Most KCH stays run 4–5 months — matching a typical exchange semester — with a smaller group staying around 10 months for a full-year exchange. Move-ins are heavily concentrated around Korean semester starts: August and February — by far the two busiest months of the year. Apply as early as you can once your exchange placement is confirmed — rooms near the start of each semester go fast.

FAQ

Is Sogang within reach of KCH houses?

Sogang's campus is in Mapo-gu — the same district as several of our current houses (see the neighborhood examples and map links above). Use the map links to check today's actual travel time yourself; we don't display fixed distances because they vary by which specific house you end up in.

How do I actually apply?

Browse available rooms, pick one, and submit the online application. Our team reviews it, and once approved you pay a down payment to secure the room.

Is the process in English?

Yes — room listings, pricing, and the application form are all in English, which is the common language across our international tenants.
